TOFS Conference 2019 – Saturday 5 October 2019 near Manchester, England


Professor Paul D. Losty, Professor of Paediatric Surgery, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, will act as conference Chairman and Master of Ceremonies.

The Speakers and workshop leaders are mostly healthcare professionals who have expertise in treating people born with OA/TOF and cover some aspects of adult care, as well as paediatric.

Target audience

The event is intended for parents/guardians of TOF/OA children and for Adult TOF/OA people themselves.  Medical subjects are very much being discussed, but in terms that patients can understand.

We very much welcome any healthcare professionals who are interested in TOF/OA.

Dedicated conference centre

TOFS shall be sole users of “The Engine Rooms”, a dedicated conference centre at Birchwood Technology Park near Warrington.  Presentations will be held in a purpose- built auditorium which has banked seating.

Location and getting there

The centre is half-way between Liverpool and Manchester, postcode WA3 6YN, and very close to the junction of the major motorways M6 (exit Junc21) and the M62 (exit Junc11).  There are good train services:  Warrington Bank Quay station has direct trains from London (under 2 hours) Glasgow (under 3 hours), and Warrington central has trains from Liverpool and Manchester.  From Warrington, the venue is a taxi ride of about 15 minutes.

Nearby airports are Liverpool and Manchester, each in the region of 30-40 minutes’ drive.  There are some trains to Warrington from Manchester Airport.

The Penta Hotel at Birchwood (called “Warrington”) is just a few hundred metres from the conference venue.  Some TOFS members, including several of the trustees, are likely to stay in the hotel on the Friday night.
