Luigi Dall’Oglio is a pediatric surgeon who lives and works at the Bambino Gesù Children Hospital in Roma.
He is the Director of the Digestive Surgery and Endoscopy Unit that is a medical-surgical Unit in which pediatric gastroenterologists and pediatric surgeons, all with a special interest in digestive endoscopy, work together for an integrated activity in digestive diseases

In his Unit, the patients with EA can find the opportunity for different techniques and strategies to solve their digestive problems, in strict collaboration with the Newborn Surgical Unit.
In long-gap EA they reach, as first goal, to save the own patients’ esophagus. The esophago-jenunoplasty represents the first option in case of esophageal substitution.
The conservative treatment of EA post surgical complications is the strategy of choice for strictures and tracheal-esophageal fistula.

Anastomotic esophageal strictures are treated with dilations and the use of a patented custom stent (OPBG Dynamic Stent®) in case of stricture relapses.
Diagnosis and treatment of gastro esophageal reflux disease and Barrett’s esophagus represents another important field of interest of his Unit.
